The University of Liverpool Faculty of Veterinary Science Leahurst Campus recently hosted two BioMedtrix Workshops.
An Advanced Total Hip Replacement Course was held on Friday, March 12th, followed by a two day Universal Hip Course on Saturday and Sunday.
Delegates from throughout the United Kingdom were presented with lectures given by BioMedtrix President Chris Sidebotham, as well as Dr. Jon Dyce, Dr. Terri Schiller, and Rick Schiller.
A hands-on lab experience was also provided enabling participants to become familiar with the surgical procedure of total hip replacement using both cemented fixation as well as biological, or non-cemented fixation. Dr. Malcolm Ness of Croft Veterinary Surgeons in Northumberland, UK also shared his expertise during the surgical lab portion of the workshop.
Following the course, delegates are invited to participate in the BioMedtrix Product Certification Program which provides attendees the opportunity to have their practice cases reviewed by an instructor, extending the course beyond the lab and encouraging proper technique. Certified candidates will have demonstrated understanding of the concepts necessary for successful clinical results.Additional workshops will be held throughout the year.
