William Liska, DVM receives AVMA Practitioner Research Award |

 William D. Liska, DVM is this year’s recipient of the American Veterinary Medical Association Practitioner Research Award.
Total joint replacement surgery, specifically canine total hip replacement, hip replacement in small dogs and cats, and canine total knee replacement are areas of expertise for Dr. Liska. He has published numerous findings relevant to hip replacement and maintains the largest ongoing database of veterinary patients that have received hip replacements.
Dr. Liska was instrumental in the development of the BioMedtrix Canine Total Knee Replacement System which has had over 80 clinical cases to date. He also supervised the development of the first commercial multiple-size knee implant as well as the surgical instrumentation and technique. Dr. Liska continues to serve in an advisory capacity as well as participate in surgeon training workshops around the world.
